We are currently seeking a Scheduling Engineer, reporting directly to the Planning Manager, to join our Project Services team based in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

About the opportunity:

The role focuses on defining project objectives in terms of duration and resources, projecting project status to ensure forecast reliability. The engineer will work within the Planning team, interacting with Project or Proposal team members internally and Clients, Partners, Vendors, and Subcontractors externally. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining project schedules, identifying risks, and providing progress reports. The role requires a strong technical background, experience with project management tools, and analytical skills.

  • Main Accountabilities
  • Develop a Schedule compliant with the selected execution strategy
  • Plan to mitigate risks and reduce costs
  • Define and optimize the necessary resources (E-P-C-I)
  • Define the Planning & Scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc.)
  • Support Client approval process of the Schedule Baseline, progress claimed or milestones achievement
  • Increase Project team members' awareness of the Project Milestones, main durations, and critical paths
  • Monitor and control the project status to detect delays and propose corrective actions
  • Estimate delays linked with changes and claims, and prepare Extension of Time analysis in case of client-induced delays
  • Provide Project Feedback and Lessons Learned to improve Planning & Scheduling methods and contribute to Planning Department statistics
  • May supervise or train less experienced colleagues, mainly on small and medium-sized projects

  • Educational: Bachelor's/Technical degree
  • Experience: Moderate experience in Project execution
  • Language: Fluency in English

Additional skills include:

  • Good knowledge of scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera)
  • Ability to develop project summary timelines
  • Knowledge of project control requirements and procedures
  • Understanding of progress measurement systems and Earned Value Analysis
  • Familiarity with KPIs and reporting systems
  • Basic knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis and Extension of Time Analysis
  • Knowledge of EPCI work processes and sequences
  • Basic understanding of GBPMS
  • Ability to identify deviations from standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to present data clearly and consistently
