Formación

Partner with the best

As a Controls Power Equipment Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and develop field solutions for equipment failures and issues of low and medium voltage transformers, harmonic filters, drives, cables, and electrical skids.
  • Develop design or functional specifications and requirements for suppliers of low and medium voltage transformers, harmonic filters, drives, cables, and electrical skids.
  • Modify Variable Speed Drives (VSD) equipment and auxiliaries to support customer contracts.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Sizing of equipment for different applications and related safety and code requirements.
  • Reviewing and commenting on customer specifications, contracts, and requirements.
  • Creating, reviewing, approving, and marking up electrical single line and three-phase drawings.
  • Creating, reviewing, approving, and marking up mechanical, piping, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Performing custom design, order, and approval of technical drawings for customer projects.
  • Attending meetings with customers, manufacturing, and equipment suppliers.
  • Support site installation.
  • Supporting product and process standardization, product structuring, redesign, and cost savings ideas.
  • Working to a strict schedule to meet contract timing and customer deliverables.
  • Supporting electrical equipment structuring initiative, through developing design practices that improve product quality.
  • Leading equipment discussions at customer meetings, both domestic and globally.
  • Interpreting and implementing contract requirements and design practices.
  • Staying current with international, regional, and local codes, standards, tools, and processes.
  • Implementing product safety, quality, and design policies.
  • Making sound technical decisions with limited data.
  • Leading analytical and designing activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A mechanical or electrical engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience but with an electrical background).
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks (nice to have).
  • Experience working with 480V industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrate experience working with FEA/CFD.
  • Fluency in English, oral and written.
  • A customer mindset.
  • Highly self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • A proven track record of strong work ethics, accountability, ownership, and sense of urgency.
  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Desired Characteristics:

PLC knowledge is a plus.
