Your role at Baxter:

We rely on enlightening information to power our quality management system and product performance. We’re seeking an expert data scientist to deliver insights by bridging business requirements with data. The ideal candidate will be a guide in statistics, demonstrate natural curiosity, be creative and tech-savvy to address data analytics challenges. We are seeking someone who can collect and analyze data from different sources, develop solutions to overcome challenges, and efficiently connect with customers, partners, and team members. This role involves mining, interpreting, and cleaning data while asking questions, connecting dots, and uncovering hidden opportunities to unlock data's potential and build new visions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as a data strategist to identify and integrate new and existing datasets that can be used throughout product and process lifecycles.
  • Work closely with the data engineers and IT teams in the development of data products to align with organization goals.
  • Complete analytical experiments to assist in problem-solving across various processes and organizations.
  • Build predictive and statistical models and machine-learning algorithms to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for quality, uniformity and accuracy.
  • Ensuring the efficiency of data models through rigorous testing and analysis.
  • Interpret and analyze data for trends and patterns and interpret data with clear objectives in mind to provide actionable information.
  • Present the results and suggestions to relevant parties by using easily understandable visuals and concise reports.
  • Improve data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems.

What you'll be having:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, statistics, applied mathematics, IT/STEM or a related field.
  • 8 years experience as a Data Scientist or similar IT role.
  • Ability to provide mentorship to other data scientists on the team.
  • 5+ years of confirmed experience in Pharma and/or Medical Device Industry or other regulatory environment preferred.
  • Advanced coursework in machine learning and programming recommended.
  • Hands-on experience with data science tools.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with medical devices.
