By aligning and streamlining our work, our Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and innovation in everything from integrated sample management to diagnostic solutions. The IDS unit is currently looking for:

Molding Manager—responsible for optimizing molding and assembly processes to reduce costs and improve labor efficiency. This role involves implementing preventive maintenance plans, adopting new technologies and design tools, and managing machines to resolve manufacturing issues. Additionally, the manager will oversee technical and administrative personnel, focusing on initiatives related to the tool shop to enhance tool and mold manufacturing.

Job Description

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate Molding Engineers and Technicians to ensure optimal planning of molding areas and the Tool Shop.
  • Assist in planning capital projects and develop implementation strategies.
  • Manage resources and workload for the mold and fixture shop to meet production demands.
  • Strategically plan service capacity to fulfill molding process requirements.
  • Review and adjust operational data, such as costs and forecasts. Create organizational charts.
  • Design, maintain, and improve molds and molded part processes. Apply quantitative models for capacity planning. Manage resource capacity to serve internal and external customers.
  • Lead solutions for demand fluctuations.
  • Plan manufacturing and maintenance of critical molding assets. Seek continuous process improvements.
  • Design tools, processes, and workstations.
  • Implement methods or systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct ergonomic and corrective assessments.
  • Reinforce safety conditions in the workshop.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, including automation.
  • Estimate investments for new processes and lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Prepare budgets for equipment and processes during line transfers.
  • Participate actively in asset management with suppliers.
  • Resolve quality risk issues in production molding.
  • Implement cost-saving projects.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in Molding Manufacturing Operations.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Scientific modeling and decoupling skills; strong computer skills including Word, Spreadsheets, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Office, Office Tools, and Visio.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Dynamic, organized, with a sense of urgency.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
