A leading company in animal nutrition seeks a production planner to oversee production lines, ensuring optimal utilization and timely availability of products. Responsibilities include managing orders, inventory, and production schedules while collaborating with various teams to address disruptions and implement improvements.

Descripción del empleo

Planning the production of a range of animal food products on one or more production lines to ensure optimal utilization and timely availability.

An OpCo may operate one or multiple production lines or sites. In smaller OpCos, 1 or 2 planners handle all planning activities. In larger OpCos, a specialized team may manage specific tasks. The role varies from planning a single, simple production line to coordinating multiple lines and external logistics.

Job Description:

  1. Checking orders for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Verifying inventory levels of finished products and balancing customer orders with stock levels.
  3. Arranging production orders, considering delivery deadlines, machine capacity, changeover requirements, and optimal run sizes and sequences.
  4. Calculating necessary raw materials and semi-finished goods.
  5. Monitoring stock positions and identifying procurement shortfalls.
  6. Preparing and releasing daily production orders, material vouchers, and related documents for production and warehouse teams.
  7. Monitoring daily production and addressing potential disruptions in consultation with management.
  8. Collaborating with maintenance, engineering, and product development on maintenance schedules, repairs, and trial runs.
  9. Implementing planning adjustments and discussing alternatives with supervisors, production, and sales teams.
  10. Ensuring proper use of planning software and collaborating with IT on system improvements.
  11. Managing changes in data such as customer specifications, product standards, machine capacities, and packing instructions.
