Descripción del empleo

Contributes and assists in developing sustainable project and design solutions to advance respective projects while working independently with guidance. Eager to learn and innovate in the integrative process, technical implementation, and sustainable outcomes on projects with a team. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to sustainable project and design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs responsibilities including engaging project teams as the visible go-to for sustainability in the region, delivering strategic enterprise improvements, assisting with staff promotion advocacy, annual review, and identifying regional business opportunities for service expansion.
  • Assists with creating annual ESG objectives, key results, and actions.
  • Collaborates in project integrative processes and workshops, including team coordination, Nature of Place research, and sustainable/high-performance goal setting.
  • Delivers project certifications for third-party rating systems, applying best practices, integrated design, and performance analysis as needed.
  • Coordinates technical and analytic needs with the Director of Building Engineering Physics and regional staff.
  • Prepares proposals and completes project workloads for internal and external services.
  • Ensures project outcomes align with firm objectives in collaboration with the team.
  • Supports recruitment of DesignGreen staff and collaborates with geographic offices to support ESG objectives.
  • Provides feedback on data systems usability and conducts specialized research activities.
  • Prepares client presentations and assists with presenting design concepts.
  • Maintains open communication with clients and provides project guidance.
  • Monitors risk management and involves appropriate personnel for potential issues.
  • Participates in team meetings for project and technical discussions.
  • Attends site visits, field reviews, and project meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Accredited degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainable Design, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional licensure preferred.
  • Typically 3+ years of experience.
  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
  • Experience with holistic integrative design, charette facilitation, and systems thinking.
  • Familiarity with design and energy modeling tools like Rhino, Grasshopper, Radiance, DIVA, REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, IES VE, Sefaira, Insight360, Energy Plus, EnergyPro.
  • Experience with graphic software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with LEED, WELL, Living Building, and energy modeling for compliance.
  • Knowledge of sustainability guidelines and high-performance standards (ANSI, ASHRAE, IESNA, ASTM, IECC, T24).
  • Strong understanding of building systems and science.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC and specification processes.
  • Ability to interpret building codes and incorporate into technical documents.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain and build client relationships.
  • Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Teamwork and multi-project management abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with quality work.
  • Willingness to travel.
