The Opportunity

"We are seeking a strong engineer with a positive mindset and relevant experience willing to join a newly formed team to contribute to one of the critical foundational services for FICO Platform. In this role, you will be responsible for building and optimizing our cloud-native platform using technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Java, gRPC and more. You will work on both backend and infrastructure components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high scalability, availability, and performance." - Director, Software Engineering.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support the capabilities of a large world-class enterprise-level platform.
  • Create scalable microservices of high performance, high availability, interoperability, and reliability.
  • Contribute designs and technical proof of concepts, and adhere to standards and guidance from architecture team members.
  • Participate with Senior engineers and Product Management to create epics and stories, and define their technical acceptance criteria.
  • Experienced with enterprise architectural models and distributed software design.
  • Serve as source of technical expertise, mentor junior engineers, and raise quality standards.
  • Manage ambiguity and moderate levels of complexity, and proactively discover and attack issues.
  • Share ownership in quality, test automation, continuous integration and delivery, and production operation.
  • Quickly escalate challenges and risks incurred during projects.

What We’re Seeking

  • Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science or related disciplines, or relevant software development experience.
  • More than 6 years of relevant technical experience in software engineering.
  • Proficient in development and deployment of software solutions product within software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Strong knowledge of programming and database concepts.
  • Experience in maintaining and upgrading of product source codes.
  • Experience with Kubernetes control plane and eco-system. Proficiency in Java (java 17/21), AngularJS, Microservices, Spring, Maven/Gradle, GitHub, Docker, GitOps.
  • Experience in asynchronous APIs and event-based communication.
  • Experience working with REST and gRPC APIs.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience in developing scalable, highly available and high performing applications for Cloud.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud technologies, e.g., AWS, Google, Azure.
