We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineer to expand our reach in mission-critical industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, Telco, and Consumer Electronics. We seek candidates who are accomplished Linux experts, passionate about Linux, proficient with containerization, system debugging, and related skills. This role offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate.

Our server edition of Ubuntu is popular in connected devices and industrial PCs. Ubuntu Core, our IoT edition, is at the forefront of security and resilience for high-end appliances and equipment. Our customers include global brands in consumer and industrial electronics, automotive, and robotics. We are expanding our offerings to enhance security, management, and developer experience in small Linux environments and devices, including recent additions like real-time Linux capabilities and certifications. Our portfolio aims to reinvent Linux for reliability, security, developer productivity, and footprint.

This role requires a blend of skills. Successful candidates will know Linux well, be proficient coders and scripters, and have experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development. They should thrive in a fast-paced, diverse client environment, be business-focused, and be team players proud of collective wins.

Our field engineers are known for handling the most challenging questions about our solutions and products, always aiming to do what's best for our partners and customers.

What your day will look like
  • Engaging with customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology
  • Designing solutions for prospective clients
  • Participating in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects
  • Communicating market requirements internally and contributing to solution development
  • Acting as a customer advocate and trusted advisor
What we are looking for in you
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu
  • Solid experience with embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot) or RTOS
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Professional fluency in English and the local language
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented, capable of multitasking
  • Driven to meet commitments
  • Quick learner and humble in approach
  • Willing to travel up to 30% for meetings, events, and conferences
  • Ability to speak and write professional Chinese
