Formación

Job Description

Job Overview:

The Superintendent Piping role requires an in-depth understanding of project execution strategies, workforce management theories, and piping principles, with a basic knowledge of related disciplines. The Superintendent Piping must be able to apply industry insights to enhance on-site productivity, provide leadership, and influence processes and policies for effective workforce governance. They should also identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact project outcomes. The decisions made by the Superintendent Piping are pivotal in ensuring that the team meets its objectives with efficiency and adherence to safety standards. These decisions should be guided by established policies, resource allocations, budget considerations, and the overarching project plan.


Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Organize, plan, and direct the piping on-site labor, including ordering of materials, scaffolding, supplies, tools, and construction equipment for the scope of work.
  • Ensure that assigned job site operations comply with design specifications, are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Play a leadership role in developing the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist supervisors and foremen in solving work-related issues.
  • Approve personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to facilitate the capabilities of individual departments.
  • Implement company health, safety, and environment programs and ensure their adherence.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with company objectives, policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Utilize available reports to manage project scope and take appropriate steps for successful project execution in the field.
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the project and ensure the safety plan is executed effectively.
  • Manage project control activities and costs daily, taking appropriate actions to ensure consistent deliverables and successful project completion.
  • Demonstrate business acumen within the area of responsibility.
  • Understand the change management process.
  • Complete all daily reporting requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily risk management analysis, working with project leaders to ensure timely mitigation and documentation.
  • Oversee, direct, and coordinate manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract activities according to the project schedule.
  • Supervise pipe and valve testing and handover to completions.
  • Ensure adherence to material management plans and change control processes.
  • Support the development of detailed schedules for specific areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure scheduling, sequencing, and communication of activities are managed to meet deadlines.
  • Verify that the quality management plan is followed and that the quality of work installed meets or exceeds expectations.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience within the Energy & Petrochemical Industry across all phases of EPCI project delivery.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with in-depth experience in large bore piping installation and pressure testing.
  • Extensive knowledge in planning and installation of piping.
  • Knowledge of all phases of construction operations – field engineering, construction technologies, and job site management.
  • Understanding of Critical Path Scheduling basics.
  • Knowledge of pipe and valve testing and handover processes.
  • Ability to work as a team member and team leader.
  • Wide experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, able to operate independently, exercising good judgment and decision-making.
