We are looking for backend software engineers who can build flexible and scalable backend architectures that can support a wide range of experiences for collectors who are trying to research, grade, and sell their collectibles. Your work will directly help improve collectors' enjoyment of the hobby and make it easier for new users to get started with the services that we offer.

The PSA Experience Platform team is responsible for building modern cloud based applications and APIs that power the user-facing applications on PSAcard.com and the PSA Mobile App. As a member of this team, your day-to-day work will be focused on building out the backend services and processes that support important features including the Online Submission Center, PSA Research Tools, and PSA Partner APIs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate across the entire software development lifecycle, taking features from concept to production release
  • Communicate with Product and other stakeholders to develop business requirements
  • Collaboratively create solutions with other teams
  • Troubleshoot software issues and debug a large codebase
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests
  • Contribute to technical documentation to increase maintainability of software assets

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of software engineering industry experience building backend software, with exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, and batch processing
  • 3+ years experience / strong proficiency in Python and at least one Python backend framework such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI
  • Proficiency with python testing best practices and test frameworks such as pytest or unittest
  • Nice to have: familiarity with a statically typed language such as C# or Java
  • Experience collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to turn complex business requirements into clean and extensible APIs
  • Strong fundamentals working with databases and data modeling - relational & NoSQL
  • Exposure to building applications in the cloud (we use AWS), and experience with containerization, orchestration, infrastructure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
  • Nice to have: experience with serverless infrastructure such as AWS Lambda
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to visualize and document processes
  • Proficient at using appropriate security, documentation, and/or monitoring best practices
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies
