Job Description

As a Mexico Senior Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for producing forward-looking analysis at the intersection between policy, the global economy, and supply chain dynamics at the Mexico federal and state level. The ideal analyst will bring a slate of tools to the understanding of policy dynamics in areas such as trade, infrastructure, and labor policy. You will be able to cover these issues at the macro and tactical level, place them into broader contexts, and be able to develop forward-looking views. You will conduct in-depth research and analysis on key topics including the upcoming USMCA negotiations, domestic infrastructure development, as well as projects that more broadly put developments in Mexico into a global context.

You will work collaboratively with regional, industry, and functional counterparts to proactively identify strategic trends in the economic and political landscape of Mexico that will have profound impact on our global clients and their senior leadership. You will play a critical role in the development and delivery of C-level client projects, including risk assessments, strategic planning, scenario-building and geopolitical and economic forecasting. You will have the opportunity to partner with colleagues across the firm to establish sophisticated cross-functional and cross-regional analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining close ties to and understanding of developments in Mexico City policy circles and tracking federal and state legislation relevant to supply chains.
  • Providing client-focused, high impact analysis and insights including short term and long-term forecasts, trend analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Managing own workstream and deliverables in C-level strategy engagements.
  • Developing analytic content for our client base, including but not limited to short articles for the website, white papers, podcasts, webinars, and slide decks.
  • Collaborating closely with our macroeconomic team as well as regional and industry experts to develop key calls on the future of trade and infrastructure policy, global and regional relations, domestic economic activity, and business environment.
  • Supporting client work including presentations to clients and the public.

Experience:

  • Proven ability to structure and deliver clear, logical, creative, evidence-driven arguments and forecasts; strong analytical skills to conduct research; and ability to synthesize academic, internal, and external inputs and datasets into impactful, client-focused analysis.
  • Excellent writing, problem-solving and analysis (quantitative and qualitative), communication, and presentation-building capabilities.
  • Understanding of or experience with analysis of global supply chains is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to multitask and work on multiple, time-sensitive client projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven professional environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple internal teams and stakeholders; flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements is critical.
  • Creative and innovative mind: outside-the-box thinking to develop strategic insights that help our clients to prepare for unforeseen risks and take advantage of unexpected opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English required.
  • 5+ years relevant consulting or similar professional experience with focus on Mexico required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred with demonstrated academic achievement in political science, Latin American/Mexican studies, economics, international relations, business, or equivalent fields of study.
