Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to play a critical role in planning, executing, and driving quality assurance efforts for our cutting-edge retail Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions. In this role, you will be embedded within Agile Scrum teams, actively contributing to sprintactivities and quality strategies from planning to release. You will translate business and technical requirements into comprehensive test strategies, ensure thorough test coverage, and contribute to automation where possible to support continuous delivery goals.

While you won’t build automation frameworks from scratch, your proficiency in using existing

frameworks and tools will enable you to create effective test scenarios and maximize coverage. This is a hands-on position that requires strong collaboration skills, strategic thinking around quality, and aproactive mindset to improve processes and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Scrum teams during all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Lead and participate in test planning activities, including estimating test effort, defining strategy, identifying required environments, and aligning with sprint goals.
  • Author, execute, and maintain detailed manual test cases derived from requirements, design documents, and user stories.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing; report, track, and validate
  • Review automation scripts using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, Postman, Jenkins, and TestNG.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and provide clear, data-driven input to product quality and release decisions.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test documentation, and installation/configuration
  • Set up and manage test environments using physical hardware and virtual/container-based platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Track and manage test lab equipment and assets in coordination with project and lab
  • Actively contribute to sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test processes, automation, and quality
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with proven experience planning and executing QA activities in Agile environments.
  • Solid understanding of software test methodologies and quality assurance
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, Postman, TestNG) with focused ability to review and interpret existing automated test cases created by the development team.
  • Familiarity withLinux systems, shell scripting, and command-line
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams using tools like Jira or Azure
  • Effective communicator, with excellent verbal and written English
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in parallel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud-based and containerized environments (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Prior exposure to retail POS systems or similar hardware/software
  • Familiarity with BDD practices and Gherkin
