Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Mold Maker A to support our mold operation and maintenance. Your skills will play a key role in ensuring high-quality product output.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex repairs, maintenance, and modifications on plastic injection molds to ensure efficient operating conditions.
  • Analyze material specifications in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
  • Operate Tool Room equipment with outstanding competence and safety, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, EDM, and more.
  • Diagnose and solve problems related to mold cycles, functions within the machine, tools, and accessories.
  • Supervise team members on specific mold shop tasks, ensuring compliance with internal quality and EHS requirements.
  • Perform reverse engineering of plastic parts and injection molds.
  • Propose cost reduction projects in machining expenses and successfully implement them.
  • Apply leadership principles and ensure adherence to our 4 I's, Code of Ethics, and conduct.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in operating lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, CNC machines, and welding equipment.
  • Strong management skills with application programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes and ISO 90001 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Ability to handle tools/equipment including hoists, forklifts, drills, gauges, and more.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and a dynamic, involved, and stable personality.
