Qualifications

• Master's degree required in engineering, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in project development/management in renewables; 5+ years in wind.
• Proven track record financing utility-scale wind projects.
• In-depth wind resource assessment, turbine tech, and project economics.
• Strong grasp of Mexico's regulatory/permitting environment.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
• Experience managing complex budgets and P&L responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Wind Energy Projects to lead significant initiatives from their strategic base in Monterrey, Nuevo León, MX. This senior leadership role involves the full lifecycle management of large-scale wind farm developments, from initial site selection and permitting to construction, operation, and financial close. You will be responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, stakeholder management, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects on time and within budget. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere, while maintaining strong connections with project teams and stakeholders across Mexico. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in renewable energy project development, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in managing multi-million dollar investments in the wind sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for the company's wind energy project portfolio.
• Oversee all phases of wind farm development, including site assessment, resource analysis, permitting, and environmental compliance.
• Lead and mentor project management teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, landowners, investors, and technology providers.
• Negotiate contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and financing arrangements.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within financial targets.
• Conduct market analysis and identify new opportunities for growth in the wind energy sector.
• Report project progress and financial performance to senior management and the board.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in project development and management within the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years specifically focused on wind energy.
• Demonstrated success in developing and financing utility-scale wind projects.
• In-depth knowledge of wind resource assessment, turbine technology, and project economics.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and environmental regulations in Mexico.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex budgets and P&L responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
