Job summary

HARMAN in Mexico is seeking a Direct Procurement Specialist to support procurement processes for direct materials used in production. You will maintain and validate vendor master, material master, and related records to ensure accurate PO generation.

The role involves global scope, remote work in English, and collaboration with Category Managers, Material Planning, and Supplier Quality Engineers to expedite vendor setup and SAP records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 4+ years experience supporting Procurement activities including sourcing.
• ERP Materials Module expertise.
• Good understanding of the P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) processes.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and validate Procurement Master Data & transactional settings (Vendors, Material Master, Purchasing Info Records, Source Lists, Scheduling Agreement, Quota Arrangements & EDI).
• Contact suppliers to obtain missing data for system updates.
• Coordinate between Category Managers and Material Planning/Supplier Quality Engineers to set up SAP records and complete purchase orders.
• Resolve order management issues related to part shortages with Material Planning.
• Ensure compliance to ordering from non-qualified secondary sources.
• Manage RFQ to PO execution and monitoring of related records.

The Direct Procurement Specialist is an operational support role, responsible for supporting Harman's procurement processes for direct materials used in the production of Harman's finished goods. These activities include the maintenance and validation of master data consistency from the vendor master to purchase order generation.

Your Team

This role will report to the Direct Procurement Ops Director. This position has no direct reports

What You Will Do

• Creation, maintenance, and validation of Procurement Master Data & transactional settings including Vendors, Material Master, Purchasing Information Records, Source Lists, Scheduling Agreement, Quota Arrangements & EDI
• Contact suppliers to attain missing data needed for system updates.
• Act as a liaison between Category Managers and Material Planning/Supplier Quality Engineers to help expedite the vendors set-up and SAP records needed to complete purchase orders
• Issue resolution related to order management with Material Planning, specifically related to part shortage situations.
• Ensure compliance to ordering from non-qualified secondary sources.
• Execute critical sourcing and process management of related activities from RFQ to PO execution and follow up including monitoring and control records.
• The position has a global scope of action with high requirements for analytical skills, attention to detail, ERP Materials Module expertise, global time-zone differences management, self-directing, remote working in English, Collaboration, Judgement and Results Driven focus.

What You Need

• Require a degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Business Operation, Supply Chain Management, Materials management, or related field.
• 4+ years' experience in supporting Procurement activities including sourcing.
• ERP Materials Module expertise
• Good understanding of the P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) Processes

What is Nice to Have

• Excel, PowerPoint, strong reporting and analytical skills to summarize large amounts of data.
• Remote working and global scope experience
• Strong initiative and ownership of their area
