Role Summary
The Digital Workplace Services Architect will play a critical role in advancing Milestone Technologies’ portfolio of offerings for our global customers. Leveraging deep technical expertise, strong architectural vision, and a consultative approach, this individual will drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize end-user computing environments, and ensure modern, secure, and high-performing digital experiences. Combining elements of enterprise support services and architecture, endpoint automation, experience analytics (DEX), device lifecycle management, and collaboration tools, this role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution. You will collaborate with C-level stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional partners to create roadmap strategies, solution proposals, and transformation plans that address customers’ evolving needs.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Strategy
- Develop target reference architectures and transformation roadmaps for digital workplace solutions (e.g., digital workplace services, support, Cloud/SaaS integrations, low-code platforms).
- Partner with senior leadership to assess current IT landscapes, identify capability gaps, and propose forward-thinking strategies aligned with customer business goals.
- Technical Leadership & Solution Design
- Drive high-level solution designs that include components such as endpoint management, automation tooling, and DEX insights.
- Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning across Windows, Mac, and mobile operating environments to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives, business stakeholders, and clients—often up to CEO level—to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Sales and Service Delivery) and external vendors to ensure portfolio solutions meet both technical and financial objectives.
- Service & Portfolio Development
- Contribute to new service offerings around digital workplace, including security, automation, and AI-driven user experience.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance during implementations, and champion best practices in agile delivery, ITSM/ITIL, and overall solution quality.
- Implementation & Delivery Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end project execution: from PoC to production rollout, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and project timelines.
- Conduct root cause analyses, troubleshoot critical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, enterprise-grade workplace solutions.
- Security & Compliance
- Integrate security requirements into all aspects of the digital workplace ecosystem, following frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent standards.
- Ensure solutions adhere to compliance and governance protocols, including identity and access management best practices.
- Continuous Improvement & Thought Leadership
- Remain up to date on emerging technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AI-based DEX, virtualization solutions) and incorporate relevant innovations into service offerings.
- Evangelize and lead workshops/training sessions to upskill teams and foster a culture of innovation within the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive Experience in Digital Workplace & Architecture
- Proven ability to define and deliver complex digital workplace architectures spanning cloud, devices, applications, and security domains.
- Strong background in end-user computing (Windows, Mac, Mobile), including endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Jamf) and virtualization (e.g., AVD, Citrix).
- Automation & Performance Analysis
- Hands-on expertise with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar), DEX tools, and performance analyzers (e.g., Windows Performance Analyzer).
- Collaboration Platforms & Integration
- Experience with Google Workspace (advanced administration, APIs, scripting) or Office 365, including identity management (SSO, SCIM provisioning).
- Familiarity with cloud identity platforms (Okta, Azure AD) and integrating third-party applications into a seamless digital workspace.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving transformation initiatives from concept to execution.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor technical staff, influence C-level executives, and facilitate cross-organizational collaboration.
- Project & Service Management
- Experience with Agile methodology, ITSM/ITIL processes, change management, and vendor/partner management.
- Skilled in building business cases, writing proposals, and estimating project timelines and costs.
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; TOGAF or similar architecture certifications a plus.
- 6+ years of professional experience in Digital Workplace, IT Architecture, End-User Computing, or similar roles.
