The Converged Cloud team is responsible for building and operating the IAAS platform on par with Hyperscalers that SAP Lines of Businesses heavily depend on to serve their customers. We adapt, innovate and simplify to achieve “stability, speed, and scalability in order to achieve SAP “growth and margin” business objectives. To run a highly scalable and secure IAAS platform and provide automation services to all lines of business across SAP, we leverage technologies from VMware, OpenStack, and required management tools/processes on top.

What you will do

1. Support vSphere operations of the complete IaaS Service globally, managing daily operations.
2. Understand SAP’s Converged Cloud architecture (OpenStack, Ansible Automation, VMware, EMC, Arista, Cisco, etc.) and deliver 3rd Level expert cloud operations support.
3. Work as part of an agile DevOps team, driving operations topics.
4. Implement compute infrastructure changes, gather customer requirements, prioritize, and collaborate with the platform development and architecture teams.
5. Manage cloud infrastructure environments end-to-end, covering compute, network, storage, hypervisor, and platform levels.
6. Handle change, incident, problem, and escalation management.
7. Drive continuous improvements and enhancements for the cloud platform and operations.

What you bring

1. Proficient in virtual infrastructure, including VMware vSphere, Cisco, EMC, Arista, and other virtualization products supporting SAP’s Cloud offerings.
2. Strong knowledge in virtualization management, especially vSphere, and Linux skills.
3. Demonstrated automation and programming skills in Python and Ansible.
4. Experience in automating cloud infrastructure tasks.
5. Experience managing large-scale datacenter/cloud/network environments.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
7. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
8. Ability to work in a distributed, motivated team environment.
9. Results-oriented with strong execution focus.
10. Capable of multitasking under tight deadlines.
11. Strong presentation and communication skills at all levels, including written and verbal.
12. Team player mindset.
13. Experience working with cloud infrastructure.

Preferred skills

1. Knowledge of OpenStack Core is highly beneficial.
2. Experience with DevOps and agile methodologies.
3. General knowledge of SAP solutions like HANA, ERP, BW.
