Descripción del empleo

Job Title: Local Site Support Engineer (Level 1)

Service Area: High Level Scope | Sub Scope: LSS - Local Site Support

Join Our Team as a Local Site Support Engineer (Level 1)

We're looking for a hands-on, problem-solver with a passion for helping others and keeping technology running smoothly. As a Local Site Support Engineer, you'll be the first point of contact for colleagues across the office - ensuring they have the tools, devices, and support they need to do their best work. No two days are the same, and your work directly impacts productivity, safety, and collaboration across our sites.

Key Responsibilities
Helping Colleagues Stay Productive:
  • Diagnose and resolve everyday tech issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Set up and take down corporate devices - like laptops and phones with care and speed
  • Step in with a temporary replacement when a device breaks, so work continues without interruption
  • Offer friendly, patient, and clear support to non-technical users - turning frustration into confidence
  • Work closely with Level 2 experts (like End User Computing or EMM teams) when issues go beyond the basics
Keeping the Office Tech Running:
  • Troubleshoot and maintain essential services like printing, Wi-Fi, voice systems, and digital platforms
  • Install and configure network hardware - like switches, routers, and Wi-Fi access points and help keep core systems (firewalls, NAC, DNS, etc.) secure and stable
  • Fix connectivity problems quickly - whether it's a dropped Wi-Fi signal or a misconfigured LAN port
  • Support smart office tech like digital signage, sensors, and smart meters (no deep engineering needed - just solid setup and basic troubleshooting)
  • Assist with phone system (PABX) tasks when needed, in coordination with our remote specialists
  • Manage the full lifecycle of printers: unbox, install, test, and decommission as needed
  • Help set up and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for meetings and events - working alongside our AV specialists
  • Deploy and maintain office monitors, ensuring smooth transitions during upgrades or relocations
  • Be on-site when planned maintenance happens - or when urgent issues arise to support the team and vendors
  • Partner with external vendors to get repairs or replacements done quickly and reliably
  • Document every incident and fix clearly, so others can learn and avoid repeated issues
  • Guide third-party technicians through secure areas like network rooms, ensuring compliance and safety
  • Support internal/external audits and compliance checks (like SOX) with accurate records and clear communication
Managing Hardware with Care:
  • Check in new devices, log them in our asset system, and label them properly
  • Test incoming hardware, store it safely (including rack mounting when needed), and prepare it for deployment
  • Load approved operating systems onto stock devices using standardized images
  • Keep inventory records up to date - accuracy is key!
  • Participate in regular audits and share status updates with leadership
  • Securely wipe and process devices for disposal - following all data protection and compliance rules
  • Lend out temporary laptops from local stock when colleagues need them
  • Coordinate warranty repairs and inspect devices before sending them back into use
  • Assist with offsite tape backups (if applicable to your location)
Supporting Change and Growth:
  • Help plan and execute office moves, desk relocations, or hardware refreshes - with attention to detail and minimal disruption
  • Be ready to support local business events (like demos or leadership meetings) when the need arises
What We're Looking For
  • Comfort with technology - you don't need to be a guru, but you should enjoy solving real-world tech puzzles
  • Strong people skills: patience, empathy, and the ability to explain tech in plain language
  • Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux - especially in an office or helpdesk setting
  • Basic networking know-how: familiar with Wi-Fi, LAN, switches, and routers
  • Experience managing hardware - from setup to lifecycle end (including asset tagging and inventory systems)
  • Reliability and attention to detail - especially when handling compliance, audits, or sensitive data
  • A collaborative mindset: you'll work with internal teams, vendors, and facilities staff daily
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or office infrastructure roles
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are valued but not required - we welcome learning and growth!
