A leading company in the turbine industry seeks an Engineering Technician to create and review CAD drawings of new and revised turbomachinery components. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience with CAD tools. Responsibilities include interpretation of engineering drawings, GD&T practices, and providing support to various teams in manufacturing and analysis.

The job will require basic knowledge of CAD drafting and 2D wireframe applications with an understanding of the fundamentals of 3D solid parametric modeling and CAD data management. Additionally, the person had the basic knowledge of terms, rules, and applications of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for engineering drawings, and understanding of mechanical drafting practices. This job requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electromechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have mechanical drafting/design experience in the fields of: Aerospace, Gas Turbines, or internal combustion engine design. Transferable skills could include performing tasks in related mechanical engineering disciplines such as mechanical design analysis, product support engineering, or reverse engineering. It would be desirable that the person filling this position would have experience with a CAD 3D or 2Dmodeling package (Creo, Pro/E, CATIA, Solid Works, Ansys, AutoCAD, NX). Experience creating or modifying Engineering Drawings of Model Based Definition (MBD). Transferable experience could include coordinating and implementing new product introduction in manufacturing, process development, creation of shop floor instructions, experience as a liaison, internships with a manufacturer, or project planning.

This role is responsible for taking inputs from multiple functional groups and translating them into designs for new or revised turbomachinery components. This role is responsible for supplying CAD models/drawings to analysis, manufacturing, and suppliers.

This position will:

• Create, interpret, and review engineering drawings (both 2D and 3D)
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices to help obtain the desired form, fit and function.
• Create layouts as required to convey new design concepts and resolutions to engineering challenges
• Assist the group with other types of document generation (Manufacturing plan models, PPAP documents for MBD parts, Kit models, etc)

Preference will be given to those candidates who have mechanical drafting/design experience in the fields of: Aerospace, Gas Turbines, or internal combustion engine design. It would be desirable that the person filling this position would have experience with a CAD 3D or 2Dmodeling package (Creo, Pro/E, CATIA, AutoCAD, NX). Experience creating or modifying Engineering Drawings of Model Based Definition (MBD).
