EQUALS TRUE is seeking a Design Director for remote-first collaboration with major digital brands. You’ll lead multidisciplinary design teams, own projects end-to-end, and set creative direction while remaining hands-on across brand, visual design, and UI.

You’ll mentor designers, build design systems, and advocate for inclusive, high-quality work in a fast-paced agency-like setting. This LATAM-friendly role supports international clients, leverages Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Notion, and Miro,

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership of multidisciplinary design teams in digital settings.
• Portfolio demonstrating craft and process from concept to final delivery.
• Strong hands-on skills in brand, visual design, and UI; wireframing/prototyping.
• Experience building a design system from the ground up.
• Ability to present design decisions to senior stakeholders.

The Work (What you'll be doing & Your Impact)

• Lead design for agency projects for some of the world's biggest digital brands.
• Own projects from concept through final delivery, setting creative direction while staying hands-on with the work.
• Work across art direction, brand, visual design, and UI to create digital-first experiences and campaigns.
• Partner with clients, producers, and strategists to shape briefs, present ideas, and guide creative decisions.
• Mentor and develop designers through clear feedback, thoughtful critique, and strong creative judgment.
• Build and refine design systems, tools, and workflows that improve quality and make collaboration easier.
• Stay curious about emerging tools, including AI, and use good judgment about when they add real value to the work.

Needed Expertise (What you need to succeed in the role)

• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams at a senior level in a digital agency, design studio, or in-house creative team.
• A digital-first portfolio that showcases both craft and process, from early exploration through final execution.
• Strong hands-on skills across brand, visual design, and UI, including wireframing and prototyping.
• Experience building a design system or visual framework from the ground up.
• Ability to present and stand behind design decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Strong command of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, along with collaboration tools like Notion and Miro.

Not Required But Nice To Have Expertise (What would be great for you to have)

• Motion design skills or experience directing motion designers.
• Familiarity with how interactive web experiences are built, with an understanding of technical feasibility.
