EQUALS TRUE is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain real-time, high-volume systems powering critical oil & gas data pipelines. You will build APIs, data integrations, and container-ready services, collaborating with distributed teams to improve latency, reliability, and security.

You should be proficient in C#/.NET, with exposure to C++ a plus, and comfortable shaping scalable architectures.

• Hands-on development using C#/.NET (with some exposure to C++ as a plus).
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, backend architecture, and data flow in complex environments.
• Proven work on real-time or data-heavy systems involving concurrency and multi-threading.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenging production issues with a performance-first mindset.
• Track record of building APIs, integrations, or data pipelines across evolving systems.
• Solid system design skills, with the ability to think through scalability, latency, and failure scenarios.
• Clear and confident communication skills in English, especially when explaining technical decisions.

The Work (What you’ll be doing & Your Impact)

• Design and maintain backend services that power real-time operational systems in oil & gas drilling environments
• Build APIs, integrations, and data pipelines to handle continuous, high-frequency data from physical equipment

Needed Expertise (What you need to succeed in the role)

Not Required But Nice To Have Expertise (What would be great for you to have)

• Exposure to industrial, IoT, or oil & gas environments such as drilling or edge computing
• Familiarity with high-performance or low-latency systems that process streaming data
• Working knowledge of AWS, hybrid architectures, or early-stage containerization with Docker
• Involvement in modernization efforts, especially transitioning from monolithic to scalable systems
