Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional drug development projects from early discovery through pre-clinical and clinical stages.
• Design and oversee pre-clinical study strategies (pharmacology, toxicology, ADME).
• Develop and refine drug candidates, optimizing pharmacological profiles and PK properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to cross-functional drug development teams, guiding projects from early discovery through pre-clinical and clinical stages.
• Design and oversee pre-clinical study strategies, including pharmacology, toxicology, and ADME studies.
• Develop and refine drug candidates, optimizing their pharmacological profiles and pharmacokinetic properties.
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs to prepare Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and other regulatory submissions.
• Manage external research collaborations and contract research organizations (CROs).
• Analyze and interpret complex scientific data to make critical go/no-go decisions for development projects.
• Stay current with scientific advancements, competitive intelligence, and regulatory trends in the farmacéutico industry.
• Prepare high-quality scientific reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external dissemination.
• Identify and evaluate new drug targets and therapeutic opportunities.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D. with a strong focus on pharmacology, molecular biology, or a related biomedical science.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in drug discovery and development within the farmacéutico or biotechnology industry.
• Proven track record of successfully advancing drug candidates through the development pipeline.
• In-depth knowledge of pre-clinical drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and R&D strategy.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary scientific teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including presentation skills.
• Experience with relevant therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, or infectious diseases is a plus.
