Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Azure Data Architect with proven managerial skills to lead and mentor our growing data engineering team. This role is critical in driving our cloud-first data strategy, designing and implementing robust data solutions on the Azure platform, and ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Azure data services, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for building high-performing teams. This role will involve both hands-on technical work as well as strategic planning and team management.

Your Impact

As CTO Manager, your responsibilities would include:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions on Azure, including data lakes, data warehouses, real-time streaming solutions, and ETL pipelines.
  • Lead the architectural design and implementation of data governance frameworks, data quality processes, and master data management solutions.
  • Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure data services and best practices.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Azure data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities for team members.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new data engineers.
  • Contribute to team capacity planning and resource allocation.
  • Promote best practices for software development, code reviews, and testing within the team.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall data strategy for the organization.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data processes and infrastructure.
Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in data architecture and development, with a significant focus on the Azure cloud platform.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Deep understanding of Azure data services and their appropriate use cases.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data solutions on Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with various data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with data governance and security best practices.
