Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist - Tier I

Description:

  • Basic EDI support role for the Information Technology department. Responsibilities include supporting internal customers to analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot EDI transactional data issues while maintaining the EDI automated system.
  • You will also provide support to all EDI production processes, develop, and modify all maps for trading partners, and coordinate with end users to expand EDI capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second level problem resolution for EDI related issues
  • Provide support to all EDI production processes and develop and modify all maps for trading partners
  • Monitor all EDI file processing and troubleshoot and test processes to resolve all transaction file issues
  • Interface with providers, vendors, and internal departments to provide first level support and to address technical and procedural issues related to EDI

  • Document, track, monitor and escalate support requests to ensure a timely resolution
  • Maintain positive customer relationships

Requirements:

  • Ability to critically think and solve complex problems
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of EDI formats (Preferably ANSI ASC X12) and internet functions
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks to completion
  • Understanding of ERP systems (Preferably Dynamics 365)
  • Capable of interfacing with employees at all levels of the organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage activities related to detailed requirements gathering, documentation and problem solving associated with complex, enterprise projects and issues
  • Translate business requirements and document technical specifications
  • Serve as liaison to business leaders on behalf of Enterprise BI & Analytics, managing expectations and ensuring BI solutions are meeting the needs of assigned projects while being SOX compliant
  • Own end-to-end complex data analysis and driving new/best practices
  • Size and scope development needs for complex business and technical project initiatives
  • Accurately identify and assess problems by asking the right questions of the right people
  • Use advanced analytical problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and questions
  • Define, retrieve, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel and other tools as needed to drive and define reporting and analytical solutions and approaches
  • Determine, coordinate, analyze and document business processes
  • Support and drive Enterprise Data Governance Best Practices with business partners
  • Present findings to team members determining and communicating options, making recommendations and driving quick solutions
  • Lead & manage user acceptance testing across business and other technical teams
  • Work with offshore & vendor partners as an extension of team in directing work and clarifying questions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline required
  • 5+ years of hands-on functional and technical analysis (in EDW environment ideal)
  • 4+ years developing, driving & performing complex QA
  • 3+ years driving complex projects to completion
  • Experience analyzing large, structured and unstructured datasets
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Experience with Oracle EBS a plus; EDW project management a plus
  • English advanced level required

Data Engineer II plays a key role in Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Operations organization providing business continuity for critical business processes, IT systems, and IT solutions through project implementations, improvements, documentation, and operational support.

What will you do?

  • Own and deliver enhancements associated with Data platform solutions
  • Maintain and enhance scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support data volume growth
  • Enhance/Support solutions using Pyspark/EMR, SQL and databases, AWS Athena, S3, Redshift, AWS API Gateway, Lambda, Glue, and other Data Engineering technologies
  • Write complex queries and edit as needed for ETL/Data solutions
  • Implement solutions using AWS and other cloud tools, including GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, Jira, and Confluence
  • Follow agile development methodologies with DevOps/Data Ops/Dev Sec Ops practices
  • Propose data load optimizations and implement them for performance
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
  • Collaborate with Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams on data infrastructure needs
  • Keep data separated and secure across multiple data centers and AWS regions
  • Be available on-call for incidents and requests

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science required
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years IT with at least 1+ year in Data Lake/Analytics as AWS Data Engineer
  • Experience in AWS data services: Pyspark/EMR, Athena, S3, Redshift, API Gateway, Lambda, Glue
  • Strong ETL with Pyspark on EMR; experience with S3, Glue, Lambda
  • SQL experience; Redshift knowledge welcome
  • DevOps/CI/CD with Git/Jenkins; CloudFormation/ARM templates
  • Python and data analysis libraries
  • Jira/Confluence for documentation
  • Knowledge of Power BI/Tableau or similar tools
