Job summary

Carrier México, S.A. de C.V. is seeking an HVAC Commodity Manager – Data Center to develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical HVAC and chiller components. You will lead supplier qualifications, RFQs, and negotiations to ensure a competitive, reliable supply base across the region.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, and Global Sourcing to support NPI, BOM, and supplier readiness while driving cost optimization and supplier performance across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Category Management, or Procurement of direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing direct material commodities and suppliers, including RFQs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, cost reduction, and supplier performance.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP and advanced Excel, with experience supporting regional or global sourcing activities.
• Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and commodity strategies for HVAC, chiller, mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components for Data Center applications.
• Lead RFQs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
• Develop, qualify, and manage suppliers while identifying localization, dual-sourcing, and supply-risk mitigation opportunities.
• Partner with Engineering and cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI), component qualification, BOM requirements, and supplier readiness.
• Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, lead time, and supply continuity objectives.
• Support critical aftermarket and spare parts requirements, including long lead-time components and NLA transitions.
