DiDi Global Inc. is seeking a student to join the Dark Kitchens Strategy & Operations team to analyze performance data, build dashboards, and drive improvements for partner kitchens on the DiDi platform.

You will translate complex data into actionable recommendations, partner with cross-functional teams, and support ongoing experimentation and optimization efforts in a fast-paced delivery ecosystem.

Team Overview

The Dark Kitchens Strategy & Operations team at DiDi is responsible for driving the growth, efficiency, and overall performance of our dark kitchen ecosystem. We blend data-driven insights with operational expertise to optimize partner performance, enhance customer experience, and unlock new strategic opportunities across the delivery marketplace. Our team works cross-functionally with other teams to design scalable solutions, execute high-impact initiatives, and ensure our dark kitchen partners thrive on the DiDi platform. We operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where analytical rigor, creativity, and collaboration come together to shape the future of food delivery.

Role Responsibilities
  • Tracking Collect, clean, and analyze operational and marketplace data to uncover performance drivers for dark kitchen partners.
  • Build dashboards and recurring reports to monitor key KPIs (sales, order conversion, delivery efficiency, kitchen utilization, partner performance).
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities through quantitative analysis.
  • Support the development of operational frameworks that improve kitchen performance, reduce operational friction, and enhance partner satisfaction.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to understand issues affecting partner operations.
  • Assist in planning and executing A/B tests, pilot programs, and performance improvement projects.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Support communication with dark kitchen partners by providing clear insights, documentation, and operational guidance.
  • Help prepare presentations and strategic materials for leadership and internal reviews.
  • Maintain internal databases, workflow documentation, and operational playbooks.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps in processes and proposing streamlined solutions.
Role Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data tools such as Excel/Sheets (advanced functions), SQL, or data platforms
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Python or other analytical programming languages.
  • Knowledge of marketplace dynamics (supply/demand balancing, pricing, incentives).
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
