Cyber Security Incident Responder

We are the Cybersecurity Incident Response team, part of Cybersecurity at Hitachi Vantara. What you'll be doing

The Incident Responder primarily responds to security alerts from our security tools, provides guidance and coaching, and acts as an escalation point for high-severity incidents. You will collaborate with global teams across regions and interact with IT practitioners such as Help Desk, System Administration, Networking, and Cloud administrators. During critical incidents, you will lead investigation and response efforts, coordinate with analysts and IT staff, and report to management. The ideal candidate communicates effectively, explains complex concepts clearly, works well in teams, admits mistakes, supports claims with data, and seeks growth opportunities.

What you bring to the team

Fluency in English is required as we operate globally across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

  • Strong knowledge of networking, OSI model, firewalls, ACLs, load balancers, and tools like Wireshark.
  • Experience responding to host-based threats, including ransomware.
  • Proficiency in log analysis using SIEMs, writing/tuning alert rules, and interpreting logs from Linux, Windows, and network devices.
  • Knowledge of EDR and Anti-Malware platforms, with SentinelOne and Microsoft Defender being highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a SOC analyst or in incident response role, with a total of 3 years in IT or cybersecurity.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CEH, CISA are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure environments is a plus.
  • Experience leading small teams is advantageous.
