PPG is currently searching for skilled problem-solvers with strong communication and teamwork skills to join our Customer Service team for the Industrial Coatings business unit.

Our Customer Service Representatives are our first line of contact for our external customers to ensure the success of every sale. Attention to detail is critical as you’ll be responsible for accurately inputting orders, sourcing to multiple manufacturing and fulfillment centers. You will own that order until it ships from the facility and will be working directly with many cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Operations, and Shipping departments to ensure on-time delivery for your assigned accounts. You will directly manage an account load of customers and partner with our outside sales team for success. You will be empowered to proactively deal with customer service-related problems and implement corrective action plans when needed. Key responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate input of customer orders sourcing to multiple fulfillment centers, including late order tracking.
  • Reviewing and updating daily priority list, customer and product file maintenance.
  • Working with Planning, Scheduling, Production, and Shipping to ensure on-time shipments and manage inventory in a cost-effective manner.
  • Working with supervisor to help resolve issues and implement corrective action plans where needed.
  • Manage Generic Sample Requests.
  • Build SHIP TO, process order, follow up until order is delivered.
  • Process OTIF Report Requests.
  • Investigate UAD’s (Unauthorized Deductions) and UED’s (Unauthorized Discounts).
  • Generate Sales History Reports upon request.
  • Manage Invoice Inquiries.
  • Manage Requests for Information (New Profile Set Up Process, Product Stewardship Inquiries, CSR Account Assignments, Insurance Certificate Requests, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of previous experience in a high volume, fast-paced, complex customer service environment required (retail or call center experience is not applicable).
  • Experience entering a high volume of order data daily with low error rate essential.
  • English at 90% is a must. Strong written and oral communication, strong customer phone skills, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, follow-up, and analytical abilities.
  • Must be able to work independently without close supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be able to display enthusiastic, customer-focused professionalism.
  • Excellent attendance is a must.
