JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing customer purchase orders to ensure that materials supply equals demand and to support the optimization of overall material costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and support customer orders and demand.
- Support customer’s business needs using standard processes where possible and customized solutions where necessary. Collaborate with the Business Unit Manager and SCM to determine the best approach to meet customer needs. Influence customer’s supply chain strategies to leverage those of Jabil.
- Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers. Conduct supplier audits/visits, certifications, and performance reviews to develop and improve the supply base. Obtain feedback from Materials Planners on suppliers’ delivery, quality, and service performance.
- Support, execute, and provide inputs to improve Jabil SCM initiatives and strategies.
- Quote new and existing materials. Work with Materials Quotation Analyst if applicable. Frequently re-quote and negotiate to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities.
- Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit, including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
- Negotiate terms and conditions that protect Jabil's and its customers' interests. Negotiate liability terms, special stocking arrangements, and other agreements outside standard Jabil terms.
- Ensure execution of Jabil pricing and terms & conditions agreements such as World Wide Purchasing Agreements.
- Improve sourcing options by working with internal resources and customers to add preferred and/or strategic suppliers to the customer's Approved Manufacturer’s List (AML).
- Analyze and project component purchase prices reflecting inventory value for financial periods in Standard Costing.
- Provide input to determine competitive Quoted Cost to the Customer that maximizes Materials Price Variance (MPV).
- Continuously optimize MPV by reducing material costs and limiting unfavorable PPV/MPV. Work with BUM to obtain customer authorization for additional expenses.
- Work with Materials Planners to ensure supplier support aligns with Jabil’s business needs.
- Adhere to all safety, health, security, and procedural policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Effective communication skills with managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Problem-solving skills including data collection, fact establishment, and conclusion drawing.
- Proficiency in PC operations, including Windows OS and related software.
- Advanced knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and interpret visual aids.
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of graphs.
