Customer and Production Planning Team Leader

The Customer & Production service group leader is mainly responsible for controlling information flow from the customers to all involved internal departments as well as the suppliers. Key tasks include maximizing customer on-time deliveries, maintaining acceptable inventory levels, and reducing costs. The role also supports and leads improvement projects and change management activities within the value stream. This position interacts regularly with employees, management, senior management, customers, and suppliers. The quality and accuracy of performance in this role impact daily operations and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage inventory levels, schedules, and availability of manufactured or purchased items to meet production needs.
  • Communicate information effectively within the company departments and personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with Logistics, Engineering, Purchasing (including incoming inspections), Manufacturing, and Business Unit Managers.
  • Serve as the first-level escalation contact for customers.
  • Analyze past due orders and implement actions to reduce or eliminate issues.
  • Ensure proper, accurate, and timely loading of the plan into SAP, running the MPS for supplier scheduling.
  • Maintain finished goods inventory levels at target and ensure good inventory accuracy.
  • Follow-up and expedite materials as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Receive EDI's, analyze, and develop plans to meet customer demands. Build and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Keep all customer systems (Covisint, DDL, Smart, Supply Power) updated.
  • Maintain good relationships with customer material planners and provide prompt responses to requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Economics, International Trade, or related fields.
  • Language: English - Advanced; German - Optional/Desired.
  • Experience in a similar role for more than 3 years.
  • Technical Skills: ERP (SAP) - Advanced; Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Power BI) - Intermediate; Automation tools (e.g., Catalytic) - Basic; Knowledge of procurement planning and production leveling - Advanced.
