Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager for manufacturing construction projects in Mexico. The role focuses on feasibility, cost planning, procurement, and budgeting across industrial sites. You will lead cost control, reporting, and negotiations with clients and suppliers.

The ideal candidate brings 5–9 years in cost management, a relevant degree, and certifications such as RICS/AACE/CCP. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with travel to sites as needed.

Formación

  • 5–9 years of experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Project Controls, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, energy, or process industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
  • RICS, AACE, CCP, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

  • Conduct feasibility studies, CAPEX assessments, and procurement reports for industrial and manufacturing projects.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, estimates, detailed cost plans, and manage contract administration.
  • Lead cost planning and budgeting activities, presenting cost strategies and forecasts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Apply Value Engineering and lifecycle costing techniques to optimize project performance and investment value.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluations, commercial negotiations, contract awards, and supplier selection.
  • Control project budgets through change management, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow analyses, and financial performance updates.
  • Review and approve subcontractor proposals, payment applications, contract variations, and change requests.
  • Negotiate final accounts and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns and project risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, site teams, and suppliers through all project stages.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, supporting resource planning and professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain lessons learned, and support knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Utilize financial management systems to monitor profitability, forecasts, and performance.
  • Travel to industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or project sites as required.

  • 5-9 years of experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Project Controls, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, energy, or process industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • RICS, AACE, CCP, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Strong client-facing, negotiation, change management, and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CostX, and working knowledge of AutoCAD and project management tools.
  • Experience on manufacturing plants, production facilities, warehouses, or large-scale capital projects is highly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and deliver results under tight deadlines.
