A global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Coordinator for Policy and Public Affairs in Mexico City. This role involves developing strategies, monitoring policy changes, and engaging with key stakeholders. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years experience in public policy, along with fluency in both English and Spanish. The Policy & Public Affairs Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development of information and insights towards the design and implementation of Policy and Public Affairs strategies to create a more favorable environment for Pfizer’s business. The position will map and support Pfizer’s engagement with key stakeholders, to expand access to Pfizer innovations, enhance Pfizer’s reputation, and shape Pfizer’s operating environment.
The role involves identifying key stakeholders , understanding changes in the healthcare policy environment and provide information to help influence the direction of Pfizer’s go-to-market strategies.
Support and facilitate interlocution with key government and policy stakeholders to support Pfizer’s business and priorities in Mexico.
Monitor policy developments to anticipate and assess the impact of the external policy environment on business strategy.
Design strategic engagement with relevant stakeholders, particularly State Governments, for the vaccine’s portfolio
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Work closely with the Policy & Public Affairs lead, as well as other key internal stakeholders, to achieve organizational goals and objectives through public affairs and policy initiatives.
Support the development of policy and public affairs strategies aligned with priorities that will create a better business environment and support’s strategic priorities.
Proactively monitor government’s healthcare policy direction and keep relevant internal stakeholders informed of policy changes.
Identify risks or opportunities from policy environmental changes and support the development of plans to mitigate or capitalize on them.
P artner with cross functional teams to identify needs and tactics that proactively shape the environment for launch of new assets, particularly vaccines.
Design engagement tactics with relevant stakeholders aiming to improve access to the vaccine’s portfolio focused on Mexico States /State Level .
Develop internal and external documents and materials, including briefing notes, position papers, presentations, among other materials , on key topics for Pfizer .
Maintain strict compliance with all applicable policies and laws, especially those related to interactions with government officials , patient advocacy groups and other stakeholders .
Work with public affairs agencies to plan and implement policy strategies.
Support the cross-functional team in appropriate due- diligence of potential PIGOs and NI-PIGOs

Internal: H&V, Legal , Commercial (public and private) , Medical , Regulatory, Regional Corporate Affairs team
External: Government, a cademics, think-tanks, trade associations, p olicy makers, consultants and key opinion leaders .
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
2 -3 years of experience in public policy, strategy or consulting related to policy, government relations, and/or corporate affairs .
Exce llent command of English language . Fluen t in English and Spanish .
Bachelor’s degree required in health/public policy, international affairs, political science, or related fields .
Familiarity with Mexican healthcare system, policy and pharmaceutical regulatory and access issues , major players and decision-makers preferred .
Strategic and analytical mindset.
Political acuity and business acumen.
Proactive, self-starter, and able to work independently .
A bility to contribute to the design and implementation of effective, innovative and practical policy/public affairs and policy solutions and comprehensive plans that deliver results.
U nderstanding of business strategy and key drivers of commercial success
Ability to monitor , identify , and address emerging issues and related risks that could impact Pfizer's business
Strong understanding of the compliance, ethical and legal parameters for working with government and external stakeholders .
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent oral and written communications skills .
