Dematic is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to develop Electrical HW designs for material handling automation systems, including CAD layouts, schematics, and industrial network configurations, with mentorship from senior engineers.

You will contribute to software design of conveyor controls, configure VFDs, create ECC configuration files, and assist with technical reviews and documentation to ensure project success.

Formación

• 0 to 2 years of experience in a related field and demonstration of key responsibilities.
• Mechatronic Engineer Degree or related, basic engineering environment exposure.

We are seeking a dedicated Controls Design Engineers to join our team and provide solutions in the areas of: Hardware Design activities of Material Handling Automation Systems with mentorship from more senior engineers. This includes but not limited to Support on the preparation of Documents such as calculations, design specifications, Description of Operations, and Test Specification, Attendance and support to more senior engineers on the preparation of documents for Technical Reviews Internals and with Customer. Software Design of Material Handling Automation Systems with mentorship from more senior engineers

Tasks and Qualifications

This is What you Will Do in This Role

You will have multiple responsibilities, using prescribed guidelines and policies which include, but are not limited to: Electrical (HW) Design - With mentorship from more senior engineers. Interprets design input information to produce simple control systems designs. Select and placement of electrical and controls components in conveyor system ensuring accurate functioning. (Photoeyes, I/O Blocks, Beacon Lights, Control Stations, Gateways, VFDs, etc). Builds Electrical Layouts and Schematic Drawings using appropriate CAD tools. Performs FLA, Power Drop, Cable Length, and other calculations ensuring designs proper functioning and compliance with Dematic and Industrial Standards. Designs of Industrial Networks following both Dematic and Industrial standards (Ethernet, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, ASi, DCAN, etc). Software (SW) Design - With mentorship from more senior engineers. Design simple conveyor controls software using programming tools such as AB Logix Designer, Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, etc. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) parameters configuration according to specific applications. Creation of Embedded Conveyor Controllers (ECCs) configuration and parameters files. Attendance and material preparation for Software Technical Reviews. Creation of Conveyor System Emulation Models for further testing.

What we are looking for

0 to 2 years of experience in a related field and demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.

Mechatronic Engineer Degree or related Basic Experience in the engineering work environment (school projects or internships acceptable).

Basic knowledge and/or understanding in

• Applied knowledge of PLC software (Siemens, ABB, Bechoff).
• Applied knowledge of Electrical Technical Drawing.
• Applied knowledge of Industrial Network configuration (ProfiNet, ASi, CAN).
• Applied Knowledge of automation systems.
