Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Global Project Engineering team. You will design header steel support solutions to hang automation systems from building structures, using CAD tools to determine point loads and produce installation drawings, BOMs, and related documentation.

The role emphasizes on-time, on-budget project delivery with collaboration across engineering peers and customers. Travel to customer sites may be required in this global, fast-moving environment.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with CAD tools and creating technical drawings.
• Applied knowledge of Inventor and/or Structural Design; FEA understanding.

Responsabilidades

• Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
• Design header steel support layouts and related mechanical drawings.
• Verify BOMs and create installation drawings for on-time delivery.
• Support quality audits and revisions among peers and engineers.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Dematic’s Global Project Engineering organization, you will gather critical project information (building/joist design, Dematic system design, and project/customer requirements) to create header steel support solutions to hang the automation system from the building/support structure, on-time, and on-budget, while upholding critical checks and balances from the project team and customer.
This will require designing the header steel support solution into Dematic’s cad software to determine point loads, create and verify BOMs, and create installation drawings of the solution. Header steel solutions can range from a simple, single-line conveyor path to more complex, multi-line and multi-level conveyor and catwalk systems.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is what you will do in This Role:

• Performs full range of standard work for the professional field

• Ensure OTD by leading or Designing mechanical Drawings such as: Header Steel (Structural Elements) Layouts, Composites, Safety, Pneumatic, Guarding, Netting, etc.

• Ensure Quality Audits, support cross audits and revisions to peers and/or less experienced engineers deliverables.

• Solve and refers complex unusual problems to others with more seniority.

• Communicate, solve and track progress status to peers, project leads and managers. Able to remove roadblocks.

• Takes responsibility and executes improvements that impact directly productivity and customer satisfaction.

• Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.

• Identify needs and create documents, material and/or solving problems references (trouble shooting) for less experienced engineers.

• Able to coordinate a small team of engineers in technical execution. Budget management.

• Travel on site might be required. Low but feasible opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfill the work requirements. Using prescribed guidelines and policies

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor degree - Mechanical or Civil Engineering or any other related to Mechanical Design field

• Background in Material Handling/Automation industry, preferred.

• 1-3 years of successful experience in related field

• Applied knowledge of CAD software (AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.) and Technical drawings

• Applied knowledge of Inventor software and or Structural Design.

• Effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. (FEA)
