Descripción del empleo

About Backblaze

Backblaze originated in a founder’s one-bedroom apartment where five people committed to helping people save their data. Backblaze provides backup and cloud storage that’s astonishingly easy to use and inexpensive. Our customers use our services so they can pursue dreams like curing cancer (genome mapping is data intensive), archiving the work of some of the greatest artists on the planet (learn more about how Austin City Limits uses B2), or simply sleeping well at night (anyone that’s spilled a cup of coffee on a laptop knows the relief that comes with complete, secure backups). We are entrusted with almost an exabyte of data from customers in more than 150 countries. We exited 2019 growing quickly and cash flow positive, and we’ve done all this with just $3M of funding.

We’ve managed to nurture a team oriented culture with amazingly low turnover. Our approach is guided by honesty, transparency, and a commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and coworkers. Our customers are happy, and so are our coworkers: In the most recent “Great Place to Work” survey, 99% of our team rated Backblaze as “a great place to work.” Check out what our employees are saying on Glassdoor!

But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Contracts Admin to join our team!

What You’ll Do

  • Triage the legal and contracts related inboxes to prioritize, route, and track contract-related requests
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including nondisclosure, commercial, evaluation, procurement and other agreements
  • Provide clear contract summaries and ensure contract execution aligns with company policies and applicable legal requirements
  • Support the monitoring of legal and regulatory developments (e.g., GovRamp, SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, etc.) and assist the Compliance team with updating templates and workflows.
  • Coordinate with teams such as Sales, Marketing, Security, Finance, and HR to help ensure contracts align with compliance requirements and business needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional input during contract review cycles, serving as a key legal point of contact for policy guidance and non-standard terms
  • Provide support on contract management systems, tools, and documentation, and help implement contract policies
  • Assist with legal operations tasks such as legal holds, document collection, and matter tracking
  • Support preparation of legal documents including memos, subpoenas, and discovery responses as needed
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Legal team to drive efficiency, consistency, and collaboration
  • Support the Legal team on special projects and ad hoc initiatives
  • Contract administration, including database maintenance and document tracking.

The Right Fit

  • Proven ability to review, redline, and negotiate contracts independently
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to shifting priorities, process changes, and risk tolerances
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
  • Team player who enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail, with a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving
  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and data processing agreements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is a plus
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management tools (Conga, Salesforce), signature tools (Docusign, Congasign), and office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Workspace, and Slack
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience as a contract administrator or in a similar legal/compliance role, ideally in a technology or SaaS company
