Position Purpose

Ensure the integrity of the inventory by booking journal entries related to daily activity, as of period or calendar month-end. Monitor assigned accounts, including analysis and explanations of variances in the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Prepare supporting documentation for the reconciliation of general ledger (GL) accounts and coordinate external audits in conjunction with the manager. Maintain the integrity of the GL inventory accounts through the implementation of internal controls and accounting procedures. Provide customer service to internal and external clients with reports or other requirements.

Primary Accountabilities

1. Prepare information requested by internal & external auditors (EY) during preliminary & final audit phases.
2. Prepare Stores Reconciliation packets.
3. Monitor discrepancies between Rocket Shuttle / OnDemand & GL to identify root causes and correct issues.
4. Conduct shrink analysis for stores outside expected ranges.
5. Lead meetings with Loss Prevention team & US for follow-up on issues identified.
6. Explain variances in financial statements to ensure the integrity of inventory accounts (Balance Sheet & P&L).
7. Prepare analysis of inventory increases/decreases related to US vendors & in-country vendors.
8. Monthly reconciliation of assets and liabilities balances, reconciling GL balances to support documentation and evidence.
9. Standardize inventory procedures with US headquarters, update and test policies and procedures, and provide documentation/explanations for internal audits.
10. Ensure all activities and processes are documented in manuals & walkthroughs.
11. Attend to MX & US DCs and brokers' physical inventories, prepare reconciliations between GL and perpetual records, and book DCs shrink results timely.

Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.

Area of Study: Accounting (MEX/US GAAP, IFRS).

Years of Experience: Three to five years.

Type of Experience: General accounting experience, preferably in shared service centers and the retail industry.

Special Certifications or Technical Skills: CPA, Mexico GAAP experience, ERP proficiency.

Other/Preferred: Experience in a multinational environment, knowledge of accounting rules in Mexico and US, intermediate to advanced computer skills, and proficiency in English.
