We are currently in search of a Compliance Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations align with both Mexican and international trade regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Customs Compliance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a Maquiladora (IMMEX) environment.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Annex 24.
- Strong understanding of USMCA, international trade agreements, and Mexican customs laws.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience with CTPAT and AEO certifications.
- Familiarity with PROSEC and Regla Octava programs.
- Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to trade compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise local and corporate staff about trade compliance aspects and risks of proposed business decisions; collaborate effectively with peers at related company sites.
- Perform reviews of all PROSEC, Regla Octava, and rulings related to Brady’s Mexico operation.
- Ensure compliance with IMMEX, PROSEC, and other Mexican trade programs.
- Follow procedures and controls of Annex 31, Annex 24, and Annex 22 to ensure Customs Operations has the correct platform to comply with Mexico regulations and compliance rules.
- Administer and monitor Annex 24 and Annex 31 systems.
- Review and process import/export documentation, including USMCA certificates and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications.
- Support the US Compliance team on any compliance-related matters such as NAFTA certificates, HTS classification, and other compliance issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments to maintain compliance with customs regulations.
- Develop specific projects with Customs operations, Supply Chain & Logistics, and Finance.
- Develop audit tools to ensure NPI and Transfers comply with Mexico regulations and US regulations, including accurate costing, HTS classifications, and USMCA certificates.
- Support audits and provide training on trade compliance matters.
- Perform internal and external audits for import and export compliance.
- Prepare, review, approve, and submit applications for export/import licenses, permits, and other authorizations.
- Review with site department managers their trade compliance internal controls to ensure they are current and compliant.
- Analyze and interpret export and import regulations, maintaining current knowledge of changes.
- Transact records in trade compliance information systems.
