A leading energy company in Mexico seeks a Commissioning Manager for their combined cycle power plant. The ideal candidate will coordinate commissioning activities, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Required qualifications include a degree in engineering and 7–10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in Spanish and technical English is essential.

Formación

  • 7–10 years of experience in power generation projects required.
  • Proven leadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams necessary.
  • High level of technical English and native Spanish preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Plan and coordinate commissioning activities to meet technical requirements.
  • Supervise functional tests of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Manage contractors and align them with project schedules.

Job Details

Job Title: Commissioning Manager
Location: Mexico
Scope: Combined Cycle Power Plant
Starting date: November

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate all commissioning and post-commissioning activities of the plant, ensuring that equipment and installations meet technical, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Supervise functional and performance tests of various systems (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control).
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with the project schedule and quality standards.
  • Report progress status to the Project Director and identify deviations or risks.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to resolve issues during commissioning and start-up.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards during testing and start-up phases.
  • Handover to operations and maintenance, preparing manuals, reports, and lessons learned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in power generation projects, preferably combined cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of auxiliary systems and power plant control systems.
  • Proven leadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Availability to travel and work on site.
  • Languages: Spanish (native or high level), Technical English.
