Job Description:
- Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs.
- Plan and specify CNC purchases to meet drawing and specification requirements.
- Ensure optimal performance of CNC manufacturing processes.
- Conduct training on CNC programming as needed.
- Improve quality through effective data collection and distribution.
- Read and interpret drawings and quality control requirements using GD&T.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices and governmental regulations.
- Drive Lean initiatives focusing on Quality within manufacturing.
- Support and lead engineering projects related to CNC programming and methodology.
- Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and present findings to management.
- Create complex CNC programs for 4 and 5 Axis machines.
- Analyze CMM and manual control reports for features based on drawings.
- Perform machine setups and trials for development projects.
- Develop process sheets defining process formats and procedures.
- Support machine operators and train CNC programmers.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in CNC programming and cycle times.
- Modify and understand CNC macro programs.
- Collaborate with external service providers to support business needs.
- Analyze and document manufacturing and measurement methods.
- Present solutions and recommendations for capital equipment investments.
- Investigate and implement technological improvements for manufacturing and measurement.
- Manage capital equipment procurement, including ROI analysis and supplier management.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Create presentations and documentation for project clarity.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages, G code, HyperMill, HyperCADs, NCSimul, CATIA V5, Siemens 840D sl, Fanuc 30i, Makino Pro5, CELOS, MAPPS IV, IMS Postprocessor, iCAM Postprocessor.
- Experience with tool presetters, shrink fit machines, tool balancers, chip balluff.
- Ability to analyze CMM measurement reports.
- Shop floor experience and deep knowledge of CNC capabilities.
- Mathematical skills, including complex trigonometry.
- Problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.
- Ability to meet job and customer requirements, follow quality systems.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with Top Solid, Vericut, GOM Inspect, SolidWorks, 3D Experience, or 3D Printing is a plus.
