SAP Monterrey, Mexico is seeking an entry level network engineer to support customer-facing network services on public cloud infrastructure. The role welcomes engineers with a solid foundation in networking and practical exposure to cloud environments.

You do not need to be an expert in every platform, as training will cover SAP services and operational processes. As part of an entry level team, you will work in an office-based role with continuous learning, incident response, and collaboration

Role Overview

We are looking for network engineers to support customer-facing network services running on public cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate does not need to be an expert in every cloud platform or technology. We are looking for engineers with a solid foundation in networking, combined with practical exposure to public cloud environments. Engineers with strong fundamentals can be trained on our specific services, technologies and operational processes.

Core Requirements

Candidates should have practical experience in both networking and cloud infrastructure.

Networking

Good working knowledge of several of the following:

• TCP/IP and IP networking

• Routing and switching

• VPN technologies and troubleshooting

• Firewalls and network security

• Load balancing

• DNS

• Network troubleshooting and fault isolation

Candidates should be comfortable investigating connectivity problems and understanding network traffic flows.

Cloud

Practical experience with at least one major public cloud platform, such as:

• IBM Cloud

• AWS

• Microsoft Azure

• Google Cloud Platform

• Alibaba Cloud

Experience should include a basic understanding of cloud networking concepts such as:

• Virtual networks / VPCs

• Subnets

• Routing

• Security groups / network ACLs

• VPN and private connectivity

• Cloud load balancers

• Cloud firewalls

Operational Skills

Candidates should be comfortable working in an operational environment, including:

• Troubleshooting customer-impacting incidents

• Following operational procedures and runbooks

• Working with engineering and support teams to resolve issues

• Documenting technical findings and actions

• Escalating complex issues appropriately

• Working within incident, change and problem management processes

Experience supporting production or customer-facing environments is highly desirable.

Additional Skills

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial but is not required:

• DDoS protection services

• Infrastructure automation

• REST APIs

• Terraform

• Ansible

• Python or scripting

• Monitoring and observability tools
