Position Specifications:

The role involves handling and translating Japanese correspondence, acting as an advisor, interpreter, and team member within the management group interfacing with Japanese corporations. Additionally, maintaining strong ongoing relationships with Japanese transplant customers in North America is essential.

Dimensions:

Japanese Transplant business constitutes a significant portion of the division's volume. The primary goal is to generate higher profit margins, positively impacting the company's overall financial health.

Key Result Areas:
  • Develop and sustain amicable relationships with Japanese transplant customers to ensure strong ties in North America and Japan.
  • Support domestic sales at Japanese transplant operations in North America to strengthen the company's presence in Japan.
  • Monitor and coordinate sampling and testing activities at all Japanese transplant accounts to identify growth opportunities.

The position reports to the Business Director.

The Senior Manager, Special Accounts, is crucial for growing and maintaining Japanese Transplant customers in North America, adding value, and enabling premium pricing of our products.

  • Japanese Transplant locations and corporate contacts in North America and Japan.
  • Professional associations.
  • Japanese suppliers.
  • Related Japanese facilities worldwide influencing decision-making.
Problem Solving and Complexity:

The most challenging aspect is managing the sensitivity involved in translating correspondence to and from Japanese companies and acting as an interpreter in business matters when needed.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate must be fluent in Japanese, English, and Spanish—speaking, writing, and reading with excellent comprehension—and be a strong communicator. Previous experience with Japanese and North American markets is required, along with computer literacy.
