Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Safety and Compliance Engineer for its Zapopan, Jalisco facility. You will develop and manage safety and environmental programs, conduct audits and risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, and train staff to uphold a strong safety culture.

The role requires extensive knowledge of PSM, OSHA/EPA standards, and incident investigations, with a focus on continuous improvement and environmental stewardship. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years of safety, regulatory, or process safety experience in chemical industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk assessment methods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Certification such as CSP or CIH is a strong plus.
• Willing to work onsite in Zapopan, Jalisco area.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and environmental programs.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, JSA).
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training to employees at all levels.
• Maintain records and documentation related to safety and environmental compliance.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries or inspections.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives.
• Oversee chemical inventory management and waste disposal procedures.
• Stay current with changes in safety and environmental legislation and best practices.
