Sensient Technologies is seeking a dynamic Category Manager to lead global category strategies for food ingredients and indirect spend. You will partner with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Finance to support growth and drive cost efficiency across teams and regions.

Your role includes guiding RFPs, supplier selections, and negotiations, while leveraging SRM techniques to maximize value and ensure service levels align with Sensient’s objectives.

• 3+ years of procurement category management experience, including strategic sourcing.

Sensient is seeking a dynamic procurement professional to help lead our direct food ingredient and packaging categories globally. This Category Manager will play a key role in shaping and executing global category management strategies that align with Sensient’s long-term business objectives. Your expertise will drive performance, foster supplier collaboration, and enhance the overall value we deliver to our customers.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for food ingredients and select indirect spending.
• This role will partner closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support business growth and operational strategy.
• This role will lead RFPs, RFQs, and competitive bidding, supplier selection, and contract negotiations to achieve cost, quality, service, and supply objectives.
• Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and cost drivers to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership.
• Manage a strategic sourcing process to efficiently handle category needs, from sourcing to performance evaluation.
• Build and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Use Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) techniques to maximize value through supplier partnerships.
• Lead multi-level negotiations with suppliers, guiding internal stakeholders through legal, commercial, and service level agreements.

What you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of procurement category management experience that includes strategic sourcing, preferably within the food and beverage industry, but not required.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from multiple sources of data
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English at a professional business level.
• A track record of successful savings year over year.
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills, coupled with ability to quickly build long-term collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in SAP or JD Edwards preferred.
