Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services.

This position will report to the PSC CE Team Leader and be a member of the PSC teams focusing on all the aspects of tactical and strategic procurement for his/her assigned commodities.

Responsibilities

1. Support migration of Indirect Procurement processes from Americas countries to Mexico and prepare Indirect Procurement related process documentation (process maps and work instructions).
2. Become a Subject Matter Expert for assigned commodities.
3. Data or requirement gathering, market desk research, TCO calculation, benchmarking.
4. Organizing weekly regional commodity calls with Commodity Management and buyers.
5. Go-To person in case buyers have commodity specific questions.
6. Support and partner with Commodity Management towards strategic projects and business planning and forecasting (prioritization of opportunities based on Saving Potential vs Effort Required).
7. CE’s are expected to help identify projects through spend analytics and opportunity identification.
8. CE‘s manage strategic and sourcing projects as assigned by Commodity Management and upon approval of project charter detailing scope, milestones, objectives, timeline.
9. Manage end-to-end own sourcing project from ideation to contract execution and ordering.
10. Understand suppliers and their capabilities.
11. Enforce use and acceptance of TE contract templates with all suppliers.
12. Collecting supplier quotations.
13. Comparing supplier offered prices and proposals.
14. Calculate savings as per the quotations.
15. Agree on which supplier to select with Commodity Management and/or Stakeholders.
16. Manage own contracts (redlining, alignment with stakeholders, negotiation with suppliers, interaction with Legal dept.) up to final execution.
17. Ensure executed contracts are properly uploaded in the contract repository.
18. Support implementing new contracts, and uploading metadata to contract database.
19. Participate in Global/Regional Commodity supplier review and internal meetings with TE Stakeholders as required.
20. Build relationship with key stakeholders including suppliers.
21. Build strong relationship with Commodity Management & Buyers.

What your background should look like:

1. Good Experience in Indirect Procurement (5+ years).
2. Facilities: Services, Maintenance, Repairs, Utilities.
3. Corp.Services: Consultancy, Legal, Tax, Marketing, Graphic Design, Fulfillment, Advertising, Printing & publishing, etc.
4. Previous experience in Strategic Sourcing preferred.
5. Good communication and organization skills.
6. Contract Management Literacy.
7. Very good English language skills in speech and writing + additional language on top preferred.
8. Diversified Industrial Products/Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
9. Good command of other languages is a very important asset.
