The primary purpose of your role is to partner in the development and execution of the Mexico underwriting strategy and to support the Active Underwriter and the wider underwriting community across Everest in its delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Produce, underwrite, and service accounts, and assist with Casualty underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes, and related issues as necessary.
  • Expand the Casualty portfolio in line with controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, while always maintaining a focus on bottom-line underwriting profit and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.
  • Underwrite and price Casualty risks, including all forms of distribution, and determine the acceptability of risks for underwriting.
  • Bind various coverages subject to your authority level and answer inquiries from producers.
  • Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business.
  • Ensure that documentation is completed timely and accurately according to standards.
  • Assist the Head of Casualty in addressing and resolving overdues, workflow, and various clerical issues as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed.
  • Interact and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Liaise with other underwriting departments as necessary.
  • Recommend new procedures and programs where warranted.
  • Furnish intelligence on the Casualty market, including competitor strengths and weaknesses.
  • Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions, carry out responsibilities, and perform administrative activities.
  • Develop business through the execution of new ideas and strategies.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or a related field, such as Actuarial Science, Economics, or Finance.
  • 2-4 years of professional work experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (required).
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for relationship building, employee coaching, and development.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.
