Job summary

Johnson Controls in Durango, Mexico, seeks a Drafter to plan, direct, and execute basic design projects tied to new product development, redesigns, and production modifications. You will support CAD deliverables, layout and packaging coordination, and release coordination using EPIC, while working closely with engineers and project managers.

The role requires a university degree (or equivalent) and experience with CAD documentation, CREO proficiency, and strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• University degree or 2-year degree with applicable experience.
• Experience supporting basic design or drafting in product development, redesign, or production modification.
• Working knowledge of CAD-based documentation and release processes.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute basic design projects related to new product development, redesigns, and production modifications.
• Prepare and support CAD deliverables for internal stakeholders and customer-facing needs.
• Coordinate layout and packaging work to support build requirements and design intent.
• Manage release coordination activities using EPIC and ensure documentation is release-ready.
• Perform CAD studies to support design decisions and product improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve scope gaps and keep work moving.
