Job Title
Buyer - Temporary position

The Position:

The Buyer will report directly to the Project Administrator and will play a key role in providing analytical support to the project team by utilizing SAP and Coupa. The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely delivery of goods for the project through effective negotiation of purchase orders and contracts with both local and international suppliers. Additionally, the Buyer will ensure that the procurement process in Altamira aligns with the Americas Procurement standards. A key focus will be on achieving competitive pricing across markets, leveraging a strong supplier network. The Buyer will be driven by cost avoidance as a main objective.

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Business Management, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry, with expertise in negotiation, development, and contract management.
• Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
• Technical skills including SAP (intermediate level), project management, and problem solving.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong ethical standards and good communication skills, especially for interactions with external vendors.
• Ability to interact openly and honestly across the organization and externally.
• Knowledge of laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
• Result and customer-oriented mindset, valuing and respecting people, with a sense of reliability and responsibility.
