The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing. We are hiring a Business Services Team Manager to oversee efficient travel, logistics, events, scheduling, expense policies, and administration.
This executive role demands excellent coordination, planning, decision-making, budgeting, procurement, reporting, and management skills. It involves managing a complex, fast-paced operation in the tech industry.
Our team coordinates large-scale company events involving travel for hundreds of people from over 80 countries. We conduct these events quarterly, investing significantly in shaping company culture, teamwork, strategic planning, and execution. Responsibilities include managing travel procurement and logistics, ensuring safety and efficiency, handling visas and travel issues, and managing unexpected situations with a rigorous approach and strong work ethic.
The team also acts as an independent reviewer for expense claims, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability, and maintaining high standards across all levels of staff.
These responsibilities involve managing operational costs in the tens of millions and making numerous tactical decisions. Additionally, the team provides traditional 'EA' services for company leaders, such as scheduling, report coordination, delegated approvals, cross-team collaboration, supplier coordination, and managing small projects.
Location: Remote worldwide, with exceptions for locations with physical offices such as London, Taipei, and Beijing.
This team impacts every department at Canonical. It is crucial for team members to possess excellent judgment, interpersonal skills, the confidence to hold others accountable, and a strong work ethic to handle a high volume of work efficiently. The team should participate actively in company events, from planning to execution, to build relationships and ensure smooth operations.
Our compensation is competitive and considers location, experience, and performance, with annual reviews. Benefits include performance bonuses, development budgets, recognition rewards, paid holidays, parental leave, employee assistance programs, travel opportunities, and travel upgrades for events.
