Who you are:

We are always looking for talented individuals to contribute to our growth and success! Geotab is seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for developing new and existing business relationships in line with our strategic plan for large international fleet clients. What you'll do:

The Business Development Manager will focus on growing new business relationships, developing sales strategies, and executing plans within a specific region, platform, or business segment to drive sustainable financial growth and build strong customer relationships.

How you'll make an impact

  • Prospect, research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned segments or markets.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to foster growth within these segments.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end process as a subject matter expert to build, qualify, and establish cooperative contracts for Geotab’s sales channels.
  • Collaborate with the Business Segment team to target and close top client opportunities.
  • Set and pursue business development goals, including sales targets and budgets.
  • Maintain a pipeline of activity through partner, contract, and reseller development using associated tools.
  • Identify new partners through outbound research that align with our market needs and strategic vision.
  • Leverage market and competitor knowledge to highlight Geotab’s unique selling points.
  • Provide insights on new opportunities, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Coordinate with internal departments during RFX processes.
  • Work with leadership to develop strategic plans for the short and long term.
  • Support Geotab’s global strategic initiatives.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 5-8 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field.
  • A proven track record of developing new sales and accounts.
  • Experience in the telematics industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical and business requirements.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and offer viable solutions.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and training abilities.
  • Persuasive with the ability to articulate value propositions and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to build and manage a robust sales pipeline to meet revenue goals.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Comfort with evolving technology and market demands.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Google Suite and CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and adaptability within a flat organizational structure.
