This role coordinates price and delivery quotes to customers that meet certain criteria via telephone, Internet, e-mail; proficient English and Spanish communication is required for this role.

What our Business Development Group (BDG) Sales Specialist do:

  • Manages a portfolio of customers in limited manufacturing environments, such as small contract manufacturers, maintenance/repair facilities, and other limited volume accounts. Continually qualifies customers by reviewing customer dynamics such as revenue, number of employees, square footage, contract awards, etc., and escalates any relationship for review that could benefit from being assigned to an Account Representative. Maintains organized customer information to support efficient task closure and responsive communication.
  • Provides price and delivery quotes within the customer’s timeline to customers within the assigned geographic territory by working with the product manager and the manufacturers representative to establish the most competitive pricing. Uses communication by telephone, fax, and email. For price quotes, the individual will utilize TTI suggested sale price and/or pricing history for that customer, or collaborate with Team Lead and branch stakeholders on deviations. Ensures quotes are delivered accurately, promptly, and with clear follow‑up to drive closure on open requests.
  • Sells products and services offered by TTI, including product lines, quality, and value‑added services. Sales are attained by building relationships and tailoring the sales approach to meet and inquire about customer needs. This is measured through monthly sales reporting, quality objectives, and regular management reviews. Maintains an organized approach to managing opportunities to ensure timely communication and progression toward closure.
  • Follows up on pending items with other internal departments, manufacturers, and customers to complete quotes, orders, or other requests. Maintains an organized system to keep all pending items visible and ensure timely follow-ups and task closure. Ensures customers receive timely responses and updates on all open requests. Escalates situations to management when unable to achieve closure from other parties so they can assist.
  • Collaborates with branch stakeholders and other internal resources to grow relationships. Communicates proactively on opportunities to strategize and provide high levels of service. Maintains consistent, timely updates so internal partners remain aligned on action items and deadlines.
  • Qualifies and expedites customer orders and customer expedite requests. Knows which line‑down situations to prioritize and escalate in order to improve delivery for customers. Sets reasonable expectations with customers on response time from suppliers and provides timely updates, regardless of whether supplier responses have been received. Monitors and ensures delivery date and product quality to meet customer requirements, maintaining an organized workflow to support fast resolution and closure.
  • Processes the customer’s order by entering it into the sales database for quote processing and delivery schedules. Requires an eye for detail, proofreading for accuracy, and maintaining quality expectations. Failure to process and review in a timely manner can result in loss of parts and factory lead time. This is measured by on‑time delivery and return material authorization (RMA) rates. Maintains orderly and timely order entry practices to avoid delays and ensure efficient closure.
  • Effectively utilizes all available reports and resources to review open orders, expedites, opportunities for additional sales, and margin enhancements. Proactively reviews these tools weekly at a minimum to ensure timely action and closure of outstanding items.
  • Expands product knowledge by utilizing all resources including product literature, factory representatives, product managers, sales managers, and other sales representatives to discuss product options with customers and sell TTI strengths.
